CookieYes helps create and display a cookie banner, that you can customize to match your website as per your preference. It also helps manage cookie details set on the website and block these cookies prior consent. Using CookieYes you can provide granular control over the cookies for your users.
Creating a CookieYes account is easy and free! Visit the main website and Sign up for an account.
On clicking the ‘Sign Up’ button, you will be taken to the CookieYes registration page.
To Sign Up, enter your name, email address and the domain link of the website you want the banner on.
After successful registration, you will receive an email from CookieYes containing the password to your account. Use this password for logging in to your account in the future.
Once you have signed up you will be your website will be automatically scanned for cookies and then you will be redirected to the initial set up page where you can see two tabs. In the first tab, you will able to see the CookieYes activation code, and in the second tab, there are different banner customization options.
Enable Consent bar preview toggle button ON on the top of the page to see a preview of the cookie banner.
This code is what will enable you to display the cookie consent banner on your website. You need to copy this code and paste in the source code of your website. Refer to this article for the CookieYes code implementation.
If you are using a CMS for your website, the following articles will help you set up the cookie banner in different Content Management Systems.
After you install the code, any changes that you make to the cookie banner will be automatically reflected on your website.
Copy this code and paste it on your website’s source code.
After you have successfully added the code to your website’s source code, you can click on the Verify code installation button. After the code verification, the “Banner is inactive” message will change to “Banner is Active” on the screen.
Choose a Theme
Go to the Choose a Theme tab and select a theme for the cookie banner from the options available.
After choosing a theme as per your preferences, installing the code will add a cookie banner on your website front end. If you see the banner with all the customizations that you have made, if you have made any, then you are good to go. You can now move to the next step in the setup.
On the dashboard, you can see the cookies present on your website.
Here, on the left side you have different options like Dashboard, Manage cookies, Consent Bar, Site Settings, Consent Log, Change password and Account settings.
Above you can see the Current Website dropdown, where you can see the URL of the website you are currently managing the cookie banner for. You can add more than one website in one CookieYes account. To do that, click on the Websites button on the navbar.
You will be able to view the list of websites you manage.
Here click on Add New.
You will be redirected to a page where you can enter the name of your organization and site URL. Click on Next once you are done and the website will be added to the websites list.
You can now choose the website you want to edit the cookie banner on from the list near websites in the navbar.
CookieYes will automatically scan your website for cookies and add the cookies in the Cookie List on your CookieYes dashboard. On the dashboard, you have an option to scan cookies. This feature will scan all the cookies present on your website and arrange and display them according to their categories.
You can click on each category to view the cookies present under it.
Under Manage cookies you will find three options, Category, Scripts, Cookies.
In Category, you will find a Cookie category list. Here all the cookies are classified with their type and description. There is two action button available for each cookie for the users to edit or delete the category.
You can add a new category by clicking on the button Add Category. It will open a page for entering the new category details. You can specify the cookie category name, description, cookie type, consent state, and order.
In the Script section, you will find the list of tracking scripts present on your website, categorized with their Ids and description. These scripts track your browsing history and some store your information in cookies. There is also an option to make the script active or turn it off, which will disable or enable it from the website. And two action button for every script to edit or delete it.
In the Cookies section, there is a list of all cookies that are added when the website is scanned in the initial step, they are arranged in a list according to their name, description, duration, type, and domain, along with two action buttons edit and delete for each cookie for account holders to use to make changes.
Cookie Consent Bar
Consent Bar also has a drop-down list with three sections; Privacy Overview, Get Script and Customize.
In Get Script section, you can view the cookie consent code again, which you initially posted on your website and verify the code installation.
Customizing the Cookie Banner
When you click on the Customize section, you will be redirected to the Customize page for your website’s cookie banner where you will find five other options; Banner Appearance, Button Appearance, Pop-up Appearance, Privacy Overview, and Show Again Tab.
When you click on the Banner Appearance, a preview of the banner will appear on the page. The layouts available depends on the theme we chose in the beginning.
Other than this there are options to change the background color, border color, and text color of the banner. Once you have set all the parameters, save the changes made.
These changes will be automatically reflected on the cookie banner active on your website.
In Button Appearance, you can change the color Button label, Background, Border, and Text-color of Accept and Reject buttons.
You can also choose to show or hide the Reject button and the read more link.

The active category button section is for customization of necessary, performance, analytics, and uncategorized button in the cookie banner.
You can click on “Show more” button on the cookie banner preview to see their categories.
In the Privacy Overview section, you can edit the privacy title and the description that appears in the cookie banner.
Show Tab Again
In this section, you have the option to make the cookie banner appear again to users by clicking on a button on your webpage. If you choose to not show the tab again, the cookie banner will disappear once the user accepts or declines the cookies. If you choose to show the tab again, you will see a button where your banner has been before you performed an action. You can click on the button and the banner will reappear.

Going back to the main page, the next on the list after Consent Bar is Site settings.
Here you can see the link to your organization.
In this section, you will find all the consents collected from users listed along with the date, time, and the action they performed. Consent will be recorded only when the Enable consent log toggle button is ON.
In this section, you can change your current present password. If you are changing for the first time, you can find your auto-generated password in the initial email sent to your during setup.
In account settings, you will find the option to remove your account from CookieYes. This will remove all your information for CookieYes including all the websites that you have added.
